Remarks
... appears similar to M. schiedeana Schlechtendal, but differs in its red stipules, pubescent bracts, pubescent and longer peduncles, longer and different-shaped petals, and an oblong gynoecium with erect stigmas. (vide abstract). Etymology: José Antonio Vázquez-García (1961-), a specialist in Mexican & C. American Magnolia.
