Remarks
Since the typification of J. alba poses a problem, Rehder (in J. Arnold Arbor. 26: 483. 1945) recommended that J. alba (as 'Carya alba') be declared a nomen ambiguum. Wilbur (in Sida 14: 36. 1990) is of the opinion that J. alba should be rejected.
