Although F.A.Lang & Zika's reference to the basionym (Hastingsia atropurpurea Becking, Madroño 33: 175) lacks the date of publication, the authors provided the date in the literature cited section (as Becking, R. W. 1986 ... Madroño 33: 175-181); therefore, they met the requirements, and their new combination was validly made.
