SPIROCHLOE Lunell, nom. nov. (from spir-, to twist, and chloe, grass, the axis of the panicle at maturity becoming elongated and spiral). Schedonnardus Steud. Syn. P1. Gram. I46. (I855). The name not thought permissible, being built on Nardus.
