Nomenclatural Notes
Status: nom. illeg. nom. superfl. Willdenow (1797) published Valeriana radiata as a new combination at a new rank and based it on V. locusta var. radiata L. (1753). Perhaps, unaware of the status of the Willdenow’s taxon, Christenhusz and Byng treated “V. radiata Willd.” as different from V. locusta var. radiata and proposed the new name V. valerianella
